🔗 Share this article Vinted Members Share Displeasure Regarding Sizing Changes Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has updated its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel without notifying all shoppers about the modification. Online Platforms Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification. The platform stated the new system was more in line with other platforms. The platform has recommended to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Modifications Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Shopper Accounts A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she said. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: previously, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options after backlash from users.
